The Korean government pursues a whole-of-government innovation based on a digital platform, aiming to increase our capabilities for civil service and establish a proactive, competent government by communicating with our citizens.

We work with diverse stakeholders including citizens, businesses and civil society to address social problems and renew values that matter in our daily lives.

We believe that government innovation enhances transparency, integrity, accountability and stakeholder participation, as well as providing citizen-centered public policies that ensure civil rights and make positive changes to the everyday lives of citizens.

In particular, we will pursue whole-of-government innovation and boldly solve the public’s inconveniences so that our citizens can feel certain changes in their everyday lives.

In accordance with our vision of “Implementing a capable and trustworthy Government”, we have established a direction of increasing “international administrative competitiveness” as we move forward, aiming to provide citizens with the best service in the world, and to improve how the government works. With this set direction, the Korean Government has derived three main strategies consisting of ① A Service-oriented Government, ② An Agile Government, and ③ A Preemptive Government, and has set nine key tasks to actualize these strategies.

The Korean Government’s core direction lies with governmental innovation across all government agencies. This innovation will be achieved with rapid solutions based on process and responsibility, the improvement and reform of public-oriented services, policies, and regulations according to private and international standards, the establishment of conversations with the public, and cooperation between different regions within the nation.
